66 posts · Joined 2021. #4 · Apr 30, 2021. Ok, good question with a somewhat complicated answer. IF, we are talking the 1260 S Ducati twin vs the 1290 Super Adventure S the Duc is rated at 150 hp vs the 160 hp of the SDS. The Duke is reported to have 96 lb/ft of torque vs the 100 + of the KTM.
My 1290 Super Adventure S has been in 3 times for the quick shifter not working as described above, the technicians did not even bother to test it yet - they just state no errors found & that they adjusted it. Super disinterested. I took it back this morning for another unrelated warrantee claim (3rd separate issue).
Thu, 22 Jun 2017. IF I HAD TO pick a natural adversary for my long-term Ducati Monster 1200 S, it would be the KTM 1290 Super Duke R. The Monster and The Beast are cut from the same cloth; both are endowed with big power, big capacity V-twins, top-quality chassis components and plenty of gizmos – all the stuff you want for maximum car park cred.

I've only had mine for since Dec but I regularly do 3-4 hr rides on weekends and I did a 5-6 hr ride after 1 month of owning it and I think it's comfortable enough.

Mar 12, 2018. #1. I suffered an MTC Failure on my newly acquired KTM Super Duke 1290. As I understand it, as explained on other forums and by the mechanic (Dan) at at Cycle Shack North, the MTC Failure is a catch all and doesn't always mean what it says. In my case, it meant disaster!
29 posts · Joined 2021. #5 · Jun 1, 2023. I had a 2018 GSX S1000 now a 1290 SDR. I was thinking today how much better the 1290 is. Smoother throttle, better brakes, suspension and tech. The GSX was tuned and had full system. These modes made it powerful but snatchy with the throttle. I believe the GT has the throttle improved.
